Pimpri: 15 June 2025:As Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) schools reopen on Monday, June 16, the Education Department has made extensive preparations to ensure a warm and enthusiastic welcome for all students. On the first day of school, a special welcome will be extended by local dignitaries, elected representatives, and senior PCMC officials, who will also take part in the symbolic distribution of school kits to mark the beginning of the academic year.
To make the first day memorable and to create a vibrant and positive environment, leaders including Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode, MP Shrirang Barne, MLCs Uma Khapre and Amit Gorkhe, MLAs Mahesh Landge, and Shankar Jagtap, along with PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Pradip Jambhale Patil, and other senior officials will visit various schools and engage directly with students.
The PCMC Education Department runs 110 primary schools and 37 secondary schools (including part-time schools) across the city. All schools are fully prepared to begin the new academic year with renewed energy and planning.
This year too, students will receive branded school essentials under DBT powered by the upgraded e-Rupi digital system, and free uniforms, and textbooks on the first day of school.
PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “All our schools are excited to welcome students back. PCMC is committed to providing quality education, a supportive environment, and ample opportunities to enhance student learning and growth. Our officers are equally excited to be part of this important beginning.”
Additional Commissioner Pradip Jambhale Patil added, “Our school teams have made complete arrangements to welcome children on their first day. Over the past year, we’ve seen how effective initiatives like Saksham have helped students grow. This year, we’re building further on those foundations with more innovative and inclusive efforts to support every child’s overall development.”
Assistant Commissioner (Education) Tanaji Narlé said, “The first day will see symbolic distribution of school kits under DBT. This year, we are also introducing new educational initiatives and campaigns focused on boosting student participation and improving academic quality. We urge parents to send their children on the first day and be part of this renewed journey.
